National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL)
is an autonomous body under the aegis of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India which has been authorized as the sole accreditation body for Testing and Calibration laboratories.
NABL accredits the laboratories that have aligned their Quality Management System with Internationally accepted Standards and Guidelines, i.e. ISO/IEC 17025:2017
(General Requirements for the Competence of Testing & Calibration Laboratories) based on the third-party assessment of the Quality and Technical competence of laboratories.
Accreditation provides formal recognition to competent laboratories, thus providing a ready means for users to find reliable testing and calibration services in order to meet their requirements. Also, Accreditation enhances their confidence in accepting testing/calibration reports issued by accredited laboratories.
Certificate of Analysis issued by accredited laboratories is globally accepted as NABL has established its Accreditation System in accordance with internationally adopted Standard i.e. ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Further, NABL is a signatory to International Organizations – ILAC
(International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) and APLAC (Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).
